A Season Almost Over

It is still amazing to me how quickly a season can pass! We have been delivering fresh, organic produce to our customers since mid May and it is already October! What a great season we have had! With melons and pumpkins added this year, it has been an especially full season! Nick and Rachel, our two season three Farm Apprentices, are soon to depart to Portland, and while we are sad to see them go, we know they will take what they have learned this summer, and apply it elsewhere! Owner, Merritt Mitchell Wajeeh, moved to the Yakima Valley in the fall of 2007 with the idea of bringing fresh, local, and organic produce to market. Merritt brings with her an extensive background in the environmental field, eco-friendly gardening techniques, and has even been a beekeeper!

Our first year in the valley was dedicated to getting settled with a young family and growing a successful test garden. Now in our third year, we offer a limited number of “garden shares” to individuals interested in being a part of our sustainable farm, a place where all workers are treated fairly and excess harvest is given to local food banks. You can also find us at the Prosser Farmers' Market!

If it is important to you to know where your food comes from, and know that you are eating the freshest seasonal and local organic produce that is grown with loving hands, then this farm is for you!
